What's New in 2010?
Ellen continues to do well - having had great feedback from her performances at "Mama Stone's" and Jools Holland's Club.

Ellen's debut album is being produced by Matt Waddell with executive production and support from Hit-Maker Phil Harding. Phil Savage is working on a bonus track in his SSL room at the fabulous PUBLIC - so we're justified in getting a little excited about the finished tracks.

Highlights of 2009
We are non-exclusive in our policy - and positively encourage all our Academy performers to get involved in other community events - as well as taking advantage of the live opportunities we find for them.

Academy performer Alice Robinson was put forward for Open Mic UK and reached the National Final in 2009. Check out her live performance at that show using the YouTube link just below:

Summary of 2008
BHM have had a great year so far.
Well done to all our performers and Academy trainees for working so hard. We hope you all had a great summer.
Former graduates also continue to do well:

Ellen Miller continues to be in demand for concerts and live appearances - and watch out for her new single "No Harbour" out on iTunes in January 2009.

Chloe Blackwell has successfully completed her first year at London's famous BRITS school. Adam Wallis reached the final of "Last Choir Standing" as part of the ACM Gospel Choir. Sean Rumsey led boy band "Future Proof" to the TV heats of the X-Factor and completed a successful UK Stadium Tour. Claire Waddington gained a place at the Central School of Speech and Drama.

Marie Batchelder impresses BBC Radio 2

In March 2004 Marie decided to audition for a local music and performance training scheme - TeenIdol. She gained a place and successfully completed the intensive course - performing live in the graduation live shows in June. During this course she was spotted by Dutch who now manages her.

Over the summer Marie spent some time in the studio - recording all her songs - and began writing more. She came to the attention of a number of Radio 2 producers and presenters with “In our own time” and very quickly began to gain fans. Richard Allinson of Radio 2 loved the track and has described Marie as "a stunning new British talent".

Her song "Believe in yourself" was adopted in 2005 as the anthem for the International Childrens' Games - and was used in Beijing in the lead up to the 2008 Olympics.

In 2006 Marie completed a successful tour in China and became the first Western contemporary artists to be allowed to perform inside Beijing's Forbidden City. Following 3 months training, Marie was able to not only address her audiences in their own Mandarin - but was able to sing 3 Chinese Pop hits in Mandarin also. This simple act endeared her to both the public and media and played a significant part in her subsequent success.

In 2007 Marie graduated from Cardiff University with a joint degree in Music and Maths. She has completed her album in the studio and currently teaches at a private girls' school in Wales.

Check out her site for more information and songs.
